HolesWe always have a class novel “on the go”,  so to speak. Today, Mrs C finished reading “Holes” by Louis Sachar – we’ll be publishing a review of it in the next week or so. We’re going to watch the movie next, and compare the two stories. Meanwhile, we love to hear of books that other classes recommend for teachers to read out loud.

Check out our Books page to see what we’ve read so far this year.

    Hi,
I LOVE reading Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous medicine to my classes. Although it is a book for younger readers (probably grade 3) my grade 5 students always love it.
My students also enjoy listening to the ‘My story’ series. We recently finished reading a book from this series called ‘The Story of Mary Talence.’ This book was a historical fiction based on the stolen generation- it was a fantastic read!

I am about to read the final chapters of Holes to my class. My students can’t wait to find out what happens to Stanley and Zero. What is exciting is that they are making connections with events that happened earlier in the story. I look forward to reading your reviews.
