A new student has joined our class!
He is black and white, cute and furry, little and playful, he is Otis!
Our new class member Otis is a tiny little kitten, snow white, with black smudges! He was brought in by Stacey who will take him home every night and on the weekends. We had to have a class meeting first and we discussed a lot about bringing in a chicken, fish, kitten or bird. Then Stacey had a marvellous idea!! She would bring in her little kitten Otis, as her cat gave birth to a perfect bunch of new born, little fluffy kittens! So we decided we would take care of Stacey’s kitten.
And he is gorgeous! He has had a few great adventures, sneaking around the classroom and the library until finally, after all that walking and sniffing, he got terribly exhausted and fell asleep under the bookshelf in the library! Cute!! He will play with anything he can find that is small enough. He climbs up the chairs and loves to play with peoples’ shoe laces. Otis’s eyes are trash green and his fur is black and white and he has a beautiful brown nose. Otis loves to sleep in his cage and he always cuddles up with his teddy, which isn’t looking so good since Otis ripped both arms off it! Danger Cat! By Cointha, Bradley and Darianne.

I love the fact that Otis is hunkered down under a book about Tasmanian Wildlife with the ferocious Tasmanian Devil on the front cover.

Otis is adorable! We sure hope you enjoy him!
We are a 4th and 5th grade class (ages 9-11) in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, and we just started blogging too! It would be great to buddy up with your class and talk about what we are learning. Check out our blog sometime: upperhouse.edublogs.org.
We will check back soon and watch your blog become even more awesome! Say hello to Otis for us!
Smiles,
Mrs. Buckmaster and her 4/5 class =)

It was really nice to see the photographs of Otis he looked very cute. We dont have any current pets in our classroom at the moment, but when I was teaching at my last school we had a rat in the classroom for two years. Some people loved it, but some of the teachers were a little scared. Really nice blog by the way there’s a lot of work that’s gone into it…. we’ll have some students from our class have a look here next week. Its the weekend. our blog is at tamakitoday.blogspot.com

Tamaki Intermediate School, Auckland, New Zealand.
Ps hope we win the cricket.
From Mrs C: thanks for visiting Mr Webb – we will visit your blog next week too. Otis is the most adventurous class pet I’ve had. In the past fish and hermit crabs have found their way into the classroom, but never before a cat! My favorite class pets are pet rocks; no noise, no worry, no distractions.
PS Hope you don’t!

How Cute!

Lucky you all… it must be a true adventure having an adorable cat travel your school, and sleep under bookshelves.. all the actions you have described Otis do are so interesting and out of the ordinary, which makes it more AMAZING!
Take care of him and make sure he has alot of fun in your classroom and discovers the school world like a real discoverer!
Poor little teddy… I’d hate to be in his shoes and have my arms ripped off my body! I would be crying all night to have no arms. After all, you need your arms!! They are one of the most important body parts that help you get on with life, right?
Well done to Stacey for her brilliant idea! I just wish I could be there to pat Otis, watch him prowl the school, hide under shelves, play with the students and do many exciting things.
For how long has he been in your class?
Take Care,
Nadine
